With the spread of consciousness for education among the masses in India during 1990s, many individuals and groups found it a good opportunity to set up educational institutions in the form of schools with a great emphasis on English education. Their intentions were noble and their purpose was to fill up the lacunae that existed on the Indian landscape of school education. Most of the schools functioned well in the beginning but eventually starting losing out owing to the meteoric changes that were taking place in the field of school education.

On the other hand,

they were generally faced with the hostile attitude of the parents while on the other they were somehow limped by the finances. What eventually followed was a downfall in their performance leading to reduction in the number of students as well as the quality of education in such schools.

…Our research study has found

that the root cause of such problems does not emanate from the way the parents react or the way the teachers perform, rather it generally happens due to the lack of understanding by the management about the scientific ways of running schools. A school is a platform where all the stakeholders of education interact and, more
often than not, it leads conflict among them which should be resolved with a heavy dose of reason and vision. This requires some time-tested, research-oriented, universal methods of managing the school on different fronts. These universal methods are then contextualized by the management to meet the local needs of its school.

Our analysis of the schools in India (esp. Uttar Pradesh) highlighted that a big majority of these schools have the potential to accelerate their growth but they are often marred by the ways they are managed, hence leading to their downfall. Such schools need to understand that running the school is not a one-man show and it requires a team so strong and motivated that it is willing to take on any challenge for the sake of the school, its students and their growth. To build such a team, our research concluded, that the experts from different fields are needed to prepare the schools for future. Therefore, on one day, all the members of Safehands Educational Ventures decided to hold a brainstorming session to problematize this situation and to find what can be done to save such schools from meeting fateful end. In the following days, several meetings were held and it was found that the experiences and research of the members of Safehands Educational Ventures can be crafted in a system to provide handholding to such schools.
